It’s sadly known how criminal or terrorist organizations can exploit the communication potentialities of the net for individual communications in real time, as well as for proselytizing, propaganda, recruitment and collection of means of support, both financial and instrumental – have observed Andrea Formenti. This is promoting a virtuous cycle whereby greater adoption of technology means greater investigative capabilities. Our Law Enforcement Agencies, in some areas, are demonstrating that they know how to take advantage of the new possibilities offered by technology, but we must, as institutions, support its adoption and promote its development, explicated Alessandro Mistó. That’s why we believe it’s fundamental to share technical-operational training at local and international level together with a close collaboration between bodies in charge of information systems security and police operators, says Andrea Formenti.
