A Hand of Blessing for a Young Military Family

Chesapeake, VA

Kyle says, “I knew that she was going to be great. She’s very strong. She’s conquered a lot of things. She did great. So, very proud of her.”

Emily is a stay at home mom and homeschools all four kids. Managing the household on a sailor’s salary isn’t easy. In fact, the couple was often forced to buy food and other necessities on credit cards and personal loans. The monthly payments became too much to handle.

Emily says, “There’s a lot of worry. A lot of how we’re going to get through. We’re living paycheck to paycheck and sometimes it doesn’t cut it.”

Kyle and Emily committed to getting out of debt and prayed about their financial future. However, two monthly car payments would make it difficult to gain any ground. They realized it would take years to become debt free. They relied on their faith that things would work out.

Kyle says, “I need to look upward, and say, ‘Father, I need help. I need guidance and wisdom to do the right things, to lead the correct way, especially in the financial realm, to be able to provide for my family.'”

Their prayers were answered when their church, River Oak, contacted Helping the Home Front and asked CBN to pay off their vehicles to help the couple achieve their financial goal. Pastor Steve Reeder shared the news.

Pastor Steve Reeder says, “CBN, Helping the Home Front, River Oak want to help you. And we want to help you by paying off the note for your truck. And it doesn’t end there. River Oak and CBN want to pay off the note for your van as well.”

Emily replies, “I am floored. I’m thinking what a huge blessing it is, ’cause that’s a big chunk of our paycheck that goes to the cars. I’m just in awe. Very thankful and grateful. I don’t know.”

Kyle adds, “I’m thankful too. And grateful to know that God’s there. That his people are here to help us through, to lean on our brothers and sisters to help us through this situation.”

CBN paid off the two car notes and each month, Kyle and Emily faithfully applied the extra money they had to paying off their loans and credit cards. They are now very close to being debt free.

Kyle concluded, “I’m incredibly grateful for CBN Helping the Home Front and that they’ve reached out, picked us up, dusted us off, and have really just established us again to be able to continue taking one step at a time until we can cross the finish line.”
